8th January 2005 Windsurfing: Brog Wind Direction: WSW Wind Stength: F5-6 Surf / Sea State: Chop, small waves Air Temperature: 7-8C Sea Temperature: 7C Weather: Clear & Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: Very gusty today, and cold playing havoc with my fingers. A few massive gusts over 50mph were recorded in the club house - big because it was doubling in speed - they're the ones that give you trouble. I was planing along one time locked in feeling fine then bang, the whole thing took off, that's the rig, board and me included. Tony's video of yesterday was useful. I did a few useful gybes today, my trick was to spot a lull and gybe on the edge so it was not honking through into it but it was back again when you wanted to reach back. |
